Ethane
High-purity ethane, used in various applications as a coolant or in chemical synthesis processes.
Air Liquide manufactures ethane pure gas to be used in a variety of applications, including the production of ethylene in the chemical industry. Ethane is also available as a component in various specialty gas mixtures, including hydrocarbon gas mixtures, ASTM blends and natural gas calibration standards, such as high-ethane, GPA, calorimetric, pipeline and extended analysis.
Ethane in air and/or nitrogen gas mixtures are used as span gas calibration mixtures in engine emissions testing in the automotive industry. They are Part 86 compliant. Ethane in a balance of air or nitrogen is also available in nonreturnable Mini-Mix™ Transportables when smaller quantities are needed for laboratory and industrial hygiene and safety applications.
